Swing Dances Set to Start!
The Do Good Swing Band, plays in the authentic swing band style of the great bands of the swing era such as Glen Miller and Jimmy Dorsey.
Swing music is fun, feel-good music that encourages dancing. The Do Good Swing Band plays a mix that will satisfy dancers and listeners alike. Vocals are possible, but need to be requested ahead of time.
The Band was formed in September of 2006 to recreate the USO Canteens of World War II and the dances popular at that time. The band is composed of outstanding Central New York musicians and wears traditional tuxedoes just like the swing bands of the past. The Band has performed to sold-out crowds monthly at the Oswego Elks Club since the USOswego program began in September of 2006. The Band is available to play for dances, special events and is happy go give clinics for music students. |
