Don is a second-generation swing musician who began performing with professional dance bands at age 11. He has performed in many styles with groups such as the Utica Symphony, the Catskill Symphony, Theater 90, and the S.U. Brass Ensemble. Throughout his career he has been a freelance trumpet player for many musicals, shows, ceremonies, and in various bands. He is the Director of the Oswego City Band, the Director and Founder of the Oswego New Horizons Band Program, the Do Good Swingband and provides consulting services for the USOswego Swing Dances and to the Cultural Resources Council of CNY. Don was trained both through his early performances working with his Father and through the Catholic University of America and graduate study at the Eastman School of Music. Don has been a music educator in public schools throughout New York, continues to be a NYSSMA Adjudicator and is currently Supervisor of Student Teachers for the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and an Executive Board Member for the NY Conference of Musicians, American Federation of Musicians. He lives in Oswego with his wife, Linda. |

Clifford, the Band's bass trombonist, has played for more than 42 years and is active in numerous local ensembles. He is a cost accountant. Clifford is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and lives in Syracuse with his family. |
Jeff owns Sawyer Studio Productions, a recording facility and production company in Sterling, New York that opened in 1992. Jeff has composed, produced and released 5 full-length CD’s of piano solos and duets and over 25 themes and songs for a children’s television program that is being aired nationally and internationally on the Learning Channel and PBS. Also has written dozens of songs being used by publishing companies in Los Angeles and England. Performing credits include: performing at the piano for President Clinton and NY Senator Hillary Clinton, Pulitzer Prize Winner Frank McCourt, National Weatherman Al Roker as well as many other dignitaries and sharing the stage with artists from Johnny Cash, Trace Atkins to Kansas and Survivor. Jeff has performed and been musical director on several cruise-lines from Hawaii, North America to South America. Mr. Sawyer currently performs several concerts a year along with being a music educator and speaker. Mr. Sawyer has BA in composition from SUNY Oswego and a Master’s in Education form Syracuse University. |
Is an instrumental music educator in the public schools. As a long-standing member of the American Federation of Musicians, he has had the opportunity to perform with many orchestras and bands in the central New York area. Some of these include the Stan Colella Orchestra, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, and local back-up orchestras for entertainers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, as well as many Syracuse Stage productions to name a few. While in the military, Mr. Soccocio performed as a member of the 82nd Army band and the Seventh Army Band in Stuttgart, Germany. Mr. Soccocio remains active as a freelance musician throughout Central New York, as well as a studio teacher of clarinet, flute, and saxophone at The Highland School of Music and Art. He is a graduate of the United States Naval School of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and a Master of Music in Woodwind Performance from Ithaca College. |
 Joe Henneberry, a former US Air Force Band member, has played professionally over 25 years, with groups Rhythm Aires, Harbor Lights Dance Band, Noteworthy, Mexico Brass Ensemble, Syracuse University Brass Ensemble, Skaneateles Brass Quintet, Joe Cool Jazz Quintet, and many solo performances at area churches for services, weddings & special occasions.  Bob Sherwood began taking trombone lessons at age nine and also learned to play the electric bass. After graduating from the Crane School of Music with a degree in music education, Bob settled in the Utica area where he performed on trombone with the Utica Symphony Orchestra and also played both bass and trombone with various jazz, rock and society bands.
After receiving his Master of Music degree from Ithaca College, Bob relocated to the Syracuse Area. In addition to free-lance work on trombone, electric bass and upright bass he became the bass player for many of the areas top blues, rhythm and blues and jazz groups. Bob has also been lucky enough to share the stage with many of the world’s greatest entertainers. Among the most memorable are Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Atkins, Doc Severinsen, Connie Francis, Chuck Berry, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione, Marion McPartland, Tony Bennett, Clark Terry, Milt Hinton, and many more. |
 Carl began professional guitar performance at the age of 15, joining family members playing for weddings. He performed with the Liverpool Stage Band and the Alfred State Jazz Ensemble while attending school. Carl has performed with several local bands including: Sunday Night Road Band, La Ultima Salsa Band, Stan Colella, the Syracuse Symphony and the Do Good Swingband performing with James Darren, Clay Aiken and Jan Eberle. Carl is also called upon to play for local musical productions, most recently for “Tommy” performed at Cortland College. Carl teaches Chord Chameleon Guitar Lessons privately and for the Syracuse YMCA. |
 Percussionist Tom McGrath resided for 25 years in New York City, where he performed in a variety of musical settings, from theatrical stages to premier music clubs. Since the summer of 2005, he has taken up residence in Central New York. Tom has several recordings of original compositions to his credit, his latest CD, "Ten Shades of Blue," was released in December, 2003. As a free-lance percussionist, Tom has performed the music of John Cage, Lou Harrison, and other composers at the Bang on a Can and A Day of Percussion music festivals in New York City. He has toured nationally and internationally with the Manhattan Ballet Company, the Mimi Garrard Dance Company, and the David Parker Dancers, and he has also performed in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions.
Tom has performed both live and in the studio with numerous singers, songwriters and instrumentalists. In addition, Tom has produced or co-produced the recordings of numerous songwriters, singers, and instrumentalists including Sandy Smyth; McWray; Minus Ted; David McGrath; Carmin Turco; mandolinist/composer Terry Pender; the cello/percussion duo Cellovision; and vocalists Elaine St. George, Patrick Arena, Barbara Lowin and Leslie Hollis. |

Chris Stewart, Saxophone and Oboe/English Horn: Chris is a lawyer and a freelance musician in the Syracuse area performing regularly with the Do Good Swing Band, the Oswego City Band, Brass Exchange, the Nick Sterio Orchestra, the Bluenoters, and the Countryside Consort. Chris has performed with Musical Reflections of America, Theatre 90, Talent Company, Auburn Players, Onondaga County Music Educators Association Wind Ensemble, Colgate Symphony Orchestra, Skaneateles Players, Baldwinsville Players, Ralph D'Mello Players, Clearview Winds, John Vona and Velvet Nights, Soul Injection, Harborlights Big Band and the CBA Drama Department as well as in local churches throughout the greater Syracuse area. She has also been a guest soloist in the greater New York City area.

 Jeff started his musical journey playing Trumpet in the First United States Army Band at Fort Meade Maryland where he spent three years as the featured soloist in the Stage Band and Dance band. Upon returning to Syracuse he entered the local music scene playing with most of the big Bands in Central New York, Sunday Night Road Band, Calvin Custer’s Monday Night Kicks Band, The Civic Center Big Band, Mario DeSantis Orchestra, Stan Colella, Frank Shetron, The Syracuse Pops Orchestra, The Cayugans, Nick Sterio and currently the Do-Good Swing Band. As a Freelance player Jeff has had the privilege of working with many national acts including the Maguire Sisters, Patti Paige, Don Cornell, Jan Eberle, Ice Capades and the Shrine Circus. Jeff has also enjoyed playing musicals including several long running ones such as Chorus Line and Guys and Dolls. Jeff has enjoyed playing with countless area bands and is currently a member of Entourage, an eight piece horn band performing at area clubs and parties. For 10 years Jeff led his own group; a high energy R+B band Backbeat Street. When not playing Trumpet, Jeff can be found at home with his wife Cindy and their six cats. |
Thad Iorizzo has been playing Double Bass for over 30 years, and has come full circle with the Do Good Swing Band. After his humble beginnings in the Solid State (Big-Band) at SUNY Oswego, he went on to play in the Jazz Lab Big-Band program at the University of North Texas,in Denton, under the direction of Leon Breeden. Thad went on to study jazz at the Berklee College of Music and simultaneously played in the Boston Conservatory Orchestra. After moving to San Francisco in the early '80's he played in the Colorblind James Band, the San Francisco City College Big-Band, and worked in pit bands for theatrical productions in North Beach and the Julian Theater
On fellowship earning a Masters of Music degree at Syracuse University he played with the Bighamton Symphony, Utica Symphony, Opera companies, Musicals (pit bands), jazz quartets, trios, the SU Big-Band and various Big-Bands throughout Upstate New York. While playing on stage during a jazz clinic at SU with the legendary (blind) drummer Joe Morello, Thad asked Joe a question: "What was it like playing with the Dave Brubeck Quartet?" To which Joe responded; "Paul Desmond couldn't stand Dave Brubeck, and the feeling was mutual...but we played some beautiful music together." |
